MAJOR FUNCTION1.
To provide on-site (i.
e.
, emergency) engine repair for Mercury ProStaff anglers at major saltwater and freshwater fishing tournaments; thereby keeping Mercury in the tournament and in full view of spectators and other competitors.
The visual impact of the Mercury service trailer at these events sends a powerful message about Mercury's commitment to product performance.
2.
Service Managers should serve as a promotional spokesperson and representative for Mercury products, performance, technology, and innovations, whether at tournaments or other Mercury events.
3.
Service managers should be prepared to assist with any onsite promotions, angler meetings, marketing set up of tents, or Inflatables etc.

Service managers must be prepared to host pro staff meetings and updates as needed including event details, setting up rooms, preparing power points presentations, sponsors row and meet and greets as needed.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES1.
Provide on-site Mercury repair to contracted anglers ProStaff at fishing tournaments and other events.
2.
Service trailer and tow vehicle maintenance - this includes but is not limited to :
order parts as necessary for engine repairs order parts as necessary to always maintain an adequate inventory.
keep an accurate and complete inventory record of all parts and equipment.
stock the trailer in a neat and orderly fashion keep the trailer clean, inside, and out confirm current trailer and tow vehicle registration and insurance provide regular mechanical maintenance on tow vehicle and trailer equipment3.
Coordinate scheduling of service trailers to provide maximum effectiveness and visibility4 Submit reports detailing work and parts required for engine repairs to warranty.
Record and report any repeated failures or trends in the field and/or problems that need to be addressed by engineering, manufacturing, etc.
Should there be any questionable repairs or discrepancies candidate must be able to access and work with warranty manager to successfully complete the repair5.
Record and submit engine and boat counts, by manufacturer or type for each tournament or event attended.
6.
Regularly upgrade product training to stay current with new products, design or engineering changes to existing products, or any modifications made as a result of field failures.
Attend - but not limited to 2 engine and product training sessions per year.
7.
Regularly report competitive product information to appropriate Marketing, Engineering and Service personnel.
8.
Monitor and report any changes in promotional contracts, arrangements, event representation or scheduling that impact Mercury and/or the effectiveness of the service trailer and personnel.

Service and event managers will also assist in Mercury social media initiatives.

use go pro cameras to take videos of repairs and or anglers comments and testimonials.
Videos can be sent directly to the social media manager and used accordingly10.
Service and event managers will need to be proactive on Facebook and social media initiatives to increase brand awareness, connect with the customers and keep Mercury and the managers in a positive light.

Managers should also be well dressed, articulate, well-spoken and eager to converse with the Mercury pro staff, tournament organizers and consumers.
Tournament service attire in the service area at all times and a Mercury corporate shirt at all functions attended.
12.
Initiate and participate with the service trailers at the dealer and Mercury events during scheduled down time to increase Mercury brand presence and exposure13.
Responsible for maintaining accurate fuel and mileage logs in accordance with DOT-IFTA regulations14.
Responsible for creating and maintaining accurate logbook entries in accordance with DOT regulations including motor vehicle inspection reports15.
Managers must be accountable for work expenses and follow proper expense reporting guidelines and policies16.
Willing to travel on average approximately 60% of the year, which includes consecutive weeks17.
Identify and initiate marketing projects when not at events.
(At least 2-4 projects per year will be required)18.
When not travelling service manager will assist the Sr Manager of competitive angling with various projects pertaining to the competitive angling program and the service trailers as needed.
